Castle and Parkland

History behind every door.
Peace at every turn.

Step into the Baroque salons, discover the castle’s story and continue through the centuries-old parkland to the lake.

An invitation to discover our heritage

Every salon has a story to tell.

Historic interiors, period furniture, artistic details and Baroque architecture reveal the many chapters of life at Lužnica Castle.

Visits inside the castle are available only by prior arrangement and must be accompanied. Guided tours in Croatian or English can be organised for groups wishing to explore the history of the Rauch family, the architecture and the parkland in greater depth.

Tours are provided by independent licensed guides. The guiding fee is agreed with and paid directly to the guide, separately from the admission ticket.

The garden and its ancient trees

An English-style landscape park meets elements of a late-Baroque French garden. Neatly trimmed hedges, flower beds and magnificent trees create a variety of views.

A plane tree more than 300 years old stands in front of the castle. In May, standard roses fill the garden with colour and fragrance, while medicinal herbs growing between the lawns and groves are harvested and dried to make Lužnica tea.

The lake and walking paths

Two well-maintained paths lead to the lake. Watch swans and ducks by the water, while tall trees offer shade to songbirds, squirrels and visitors alike.

Wooden gazebos, little bridges and benches offer places to read, talk and rest. Flower-filled meadows and wilder corners of the parkland invite you to enjoy a gentler pace.

Outdoor Stations of the Cross are set among the greenery for personal prayer and reflection.
